Welcome
The call to order was issued by Tim Lockley, Chairperson of Subsection Ca at 4:30 PM. Chairperson Lockley introduced Subsection Ca officers: Chair-elect Ross H. Miller, University of Guam, Milagilao, Guam; and Secretary Kenneth A. Bloem, USDA-APHIS, Tallahassee, FL.
The Chair announced that Subsection Ca had 59 regular member poster presentations at the meeting and 24 student posters; and 20 regular member 10-minute talks and 27 student 10-minute talks.
23 members were in attendance.
2001 Minutes
Chair-elect Ross Miller read the abbreviated minutes from the 2001 meeting in San Diego. A motion to approve the minutes as read was made Del Delfosse, seconded by Sanford Porter, and passed by the membership.

New Business
Nominations were opened for ESA Vice President-Elect, ESA Secretary, ESA Governing Board, and Section C Secretary-Elect. No nominations were made.
Nominations were opened for Subsection Ca Secretary-Elect. Denise Olson, North Dakota State University, was nominated, accepted the nomination, and the nomination approve unanimously by voice vote by the membership.
Judges for student competition were solicited for the 2003 meeting. A sign-up sheet was circulated to the membership. The chair urged everyone to encourage greater student participation at both the ESA and business meetings. A question was asked about whether graduate students could be judges. Del indicated that they could be moderators for the sessions but not judges.
Items from the Floor
Del reminded the membership that Environmental Entomology has a new section dedicated to Weed Biological Control, and encouraged everyone to "pass the word" and help solicit papers.
IOBC-NRS business meeting, informal conference and mixer were announced by Bob Wiedenmann for the Floridian Ballroom A, beginning at 5:45 PM on Tuesday, 19 November.

Subsection Cb
Secretary T. Pankin reported that 13 members attended the subsection business meeting. A topic for an informal conference was discussed, "Life on a little known planet: a memorial to Howard Evans." Other program and/or section symposia may be considered at the IVSSI business meeting.
Steve Pernal was nominated and approved for Section Cb Secretary-elect. Volunteers for moderators and judges at the IVSSI meeting for next year's annual meeting.

Suggestions for Symposia
It was proposed that a discussion and consideration for a Proposed program symposium on Leafhopper vectors of plant diseases for 2004 would have wide appeal since there is a huge interest in GWSS and Pierce's Disease currently. This will also coincide with the retirement of Dr. Sandy Purcell who is the world expert on Sharpshooter leafhoppers and Pierce's Disease, it was suggested to make this a tribute to a 'Life's work' of Dr. Purcell. Motion unanimously supported to consider this and passed.
Miscellaneous
JEE has a new section for insect vectors and plant disease. Authors are encouraged to submit relevant manuscripts to JEE.
Auchenorrhyncha meeting in California announced 2003.

Subsection Cd

Chair Robert Meagher called the Final Business Meeting of Section Cd to order on November 18, 2002 at 4:35 pm. Thirteen members were present. The minutes from the 2001 Annual Meeting were approved.
Chair Meagher made several announcements related to this meeting and next year's meeting at Cincinnati, OH, including the meeting theme, due dates for ten minute talks and poster displays, and symposia. Section symposia titles are due to Sanford Porter February 1, 2003. Other symposia titles are due to Robert Wright, Program Chair, March 1, 2003. Four members said they would present information for Section C Symposia at the Section C Final Business meeting on Wednesday.
Officer and Section Committee membership forms were passed around. Also, Moderator/Judging forms were also passed out.
Nominations for ESA Vice-President, Section C Governing Board representative, and Section C Secretary were solicited. Robert Meagher was nominated for Section C Secretary.
Tracey Leskey [USDA, ARS, Appalachian Fruit Research Station, 45 Wiltshire Road, Kearneysville, WV 25430, (tleskey@afrs.ars.usda.gov)] was elected as Secretary-elect of Subsection Cd.

Subsection Ce

Chair Fernando Vega called the meeting to order at 4:30 PM. Seventeen members were present. Chair Vega announced the 2003 ESA meeting in Cincinnati.
Nominations and Elections
Subsection Ce: For Secretary, David Shapiro-Ilan was nominated by L. Lacey. Roberto Pereira was nominated by J. Lord. Dr. Shapiro-Ilan withdrew and Dr. Pereira was elected unanimously. Other incoming officers are Michael Klein, chair and Jeff Lord, chair elect.
Section C nominations: Vice President: Tom Holtzer by Lerry Lacey; Governing Board: none (John Vandenberg declined); Secretary: none.
Chair Vega circulated a sheet for volunteers to be moderators and student paper judges. J. Vandenberg spoke in support of volunteering, especially for judges.
Symposia
J. Vandenberg spoke to the need for proposals for section and program symposia. Jerrod Leland volunteered to organize a proposal for a symposium based on commercial development of microbial insecticides. Several members offered to help. J. Vandenberg was designated to present the idea at the final business meeting.
Updates
Joel Siegel updated ESA membership issues. L. Lacey explained the upcoming system of electronic manuscript submission.

Subsection Cf

Section Cf met from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm on Monday, 18 November 2002. Six members were in attendance. A discussion was initiated regarding symposia topics as well as a possible popular article concerning the history of quantitative ecology. The following officers were then elected:
