Reading & Approval of 2002 Business Meeting Minutes
The minutes of the 2002 business meeting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, were read and approved.
Report on 2003 Subsection Activities
Chair Miller noted that subsection Fb was well represented at the 2003 meeting with 86 submitted papers and posters, although that number was down from the 125 papers and posters at the previous meeting in Fort Lauderdale. Also noted, was that there were no Section symposia in 2003, but that the student debates in urban entomology were a welcome addition.
Old Business
Discussions revolved around the subject of conflicting times between Fb submitted papers, formal and informal conferences, and symposia. Also raised, were issues relating to a loss of two informal conferences relative to the previous year. It was also noted that the Asian ladybird beetle symposium in 2003 had actually originated in Subsection Fb, but was elected, organized and presented under Section E. A motion was brought forth by the Chair, and seconded by numerous others, encouraging more Fb symposia submissions.

Better Marketing of Subsection Fb to the PCO/PMP Practitioner
A suggestion was made from the floor that the Subsection needs to better marker itself to the pest control, pest management and food industries. One suggestion was to attempt to concentrate all Subsection Fb events on a single day during the meeting, in order for members of the pest management industry to have fewer days away from their jobs. The subsection members in attendance were not in disagreement with this suggestion.
NCUE Meeting
Chair Miller closed by reminding participants of the National Conference on Urban Entomology to be held May 19-22, 2004 in Phoenix, AZ.
Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 5:15 pm.
