Reading & Approval of 2003 Business Meeting Minutes
The minutes of the 2003 business meeting in Cincinnati, Ohio, were read and approved.
Report on 2004 Subsection Activities
Subsection Fb is represented at the 2004 Annual Meeting with 71 submitted papers and posters (down from 86 last year). We had no symposia this year. The breakdown of these submissions are as follows:
Submitted papers: 37
Submitted posters: 17
Student competition papers: 9
Student competition posters: 8
Old Business
Previous issues on scheduling conflicts between Fb submitted papers and symposia were not a problem at the last Annual Meeting, quite possibly due to the lack of symposium submissions. Also, there was a on having urban entomology talks and posters all on one day to accommodate schedules of pest management practitioners. Is this still worth bringing up with the program committee?
New Business
Subsection Fb Symposia
An e-mail went out asking for suggestions. Those offering proposals should be prepared to organize the symposium.
Nominations for Subsection Fb Secretary
A call for nominations went out via the e-mail list four weeks ago. Ballots are circulating with those that have agreed to serve. Any additional nominations from the floor?
Volunteers
Please volunteer to moderate submitted papers and to judge the student paper competition in 2005. A sign-up sheet is circulating.
