About: ARS and the Weed Science Society of America (WSSA) are co-hosting 10 webinars on weed science and research. Beginning April 5, presentations will be given by ARS weed science research experts.
The webinars will occur every Tuesday from 2-3p.m. Eastern Time (ET) and include an interactive Q&A session.
National Conference on Urban Entomology

About: This conference is an opportunity for those focused on urban entomology, and to learn from each other’s research, share ideas, ask questions, network, and develop partnerships. A few of the symposia for 2022 include: Aspects of Myrmecology Applicable to Invasive Ant Management; Remote Pest Monitors and Monitoring Technology; Improving Integrated Pest Management Strategies in Low-Income Housing Communities; and
Commercialization of Pest Management.
Submission Deadline - Early Career Professional Recognition Symposium
This juried symposium is open to submissions from ESA, ESC, and ESBC Student Transition and Early Career/Early Professional members. Four presenters will be selected, one representing each ESA Section, to give a 30-minute feature presentation describing their research programs in this special symposium.
Additional information will be required, including an abstract, 1-page cover letter, and CV. Winners will receive a $500 travel stipend. Submissions not selected will be scheduled as part of the non-competition 10-minute paper sessions. Learn more.
Submission Deadline - ESA Rising Stars of Entomology and ESC Graduate Student Showcase Symposium
This symposium will feature a selection of graduate students near the end of their masters or doctoral programs to showcase their research with greater depth than the standard 10-minute student competition allows. The symposium will feature a total of eight speakers, four from ESA and four from ESC.
Additional information will be required, including an abstract, 1-page outline of research to be presented, CV, two-minute promotional video, and a letter of support. Submissions not selected will be scheduled as part of the student competition 10-minute paper sessions. Learn more.

International Plant Virus Epidemiology Symposium

About: Plant virus diseases are a strong constraint for both yield and quality of crops worldwide. New viruses and other plant-pathogens emerge regularly, and thus constantly challenge food security. Recent work concerning the etiology and diagnosis, diversity, ecology and evolution, virus-vector interactions and management of virus-borne diseases under a changing climate will be the main topics covered in this new Symposium.
