About: In this presentation Dr. Davidowitz will provide background on the growing interest in developing insects as a source of protein for food and feed based on his research funded by USDA-FAS and USAID in 2020.  By providing examples of how a habitat-centric approach to edible insects can support a circular economy, reduce waste, and turn insect pests into edible food, he will show how this approach can help communities increase food security and alleviate waste at the local level.
