ECP Teaching and Mentoring Award

This award is given to a student transition or early professional who excels in entomological education and/or mentoring.  

The recipient will receive complimentary registration to the EB-ESA Annual Meeting, a $500 check, and an award plaque. The Eastern Branch Award Committee Chair will notify all candidates and their nominators with the results of their nomination approximately two months after the nomination submission deadline.
 

Braman, Peterson Earn Honorary Membership at Entomological Society of America

Annapolis, MD; August 30, 2023—In recognition of their long-term dedication and significant contributions to the Entomological Society of America (ESA), two entomologists have been selected as Honorary Members of the Society in 2023: S. Kris Braman, University of Georgia; and Robert K.D. Peterson, Montana State University.

ESA Names 2023 Professional and Student Award Honorees

Award honorees will be showcased during Entomology 2023, November 5-8, in Natinoal Harbor, Maryland.

Six Entomologists Honored as 2023 Fellows of the Entomological Society of America

Annapolis, MD; July 25, 2023—The Governing Board of the Entomological Society of America has elected six new Fellows of the Society for 2023. Election as a Fellow of ESA acknowledges outstanding contributions to entomology via research, teaching, extension, administration, military service, or public engagement and science policy. 

Tracy Leskey Selected to Deliver 2023 ESA Founders' Memorial Lecture

Annapolis, MD; May 31, 2023—Tracy Leskey, Ph.D., director and research leader at the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service's Appalachian Fruit Research Station, has been selected to deliver the Founders' Memorial Award Lecture at Entomology 2023, the Annual Meeting of the Entomological Society of America.

NCB Excellence in Early Career Education and Engagement Award

This award honors a student transition or early professional working within the field of entomology who has demonstrated outstanding contributions to teaching, mentoring, extension, and/or outreach. The recipient will receive a $250 check and an award plaque.

Southeastern Branch Student Registration Scholarship

This scholarship is intended for any undergraduate or graduate student performing research or extension/outreach work in the field of entomology to present their work at the ESA Southeastern Branch Meeting. 

Five full registration scholarships will be provided for students to attend the 2023 Southeastern Branch Meeting. Funding priority will be given to students who have not previously attended a Branch meeting and are members of underrepresented demographics within ESA
