Symposia submissions are now open for Entomology 2021

Program symposia submissions, should reflect the meeting theme, Adapt. Advance. Transform. Organizers are encouraged to propose timely, thought-provoking, and appealing sessions that are inclusive and display the diversity of entomological science in terms of speaker locality, career path (research, education, industry, extension, government, etc.), and background (gender, ethnicity, career stage, etc.), and incorporate the meeting theme.  For instance, consider how insects, our science, and scientists adapt to changing environments, advance biology or applied purpose, and transform, leading to biological or developmental success, technological advances, and new knowledge to enhance life and the environment.

Please bear in mind that the process for getting program symposia accepted is competitive, as the number of proposal submissions always exceeds the available slots by a wide margin. Organizers should strive to be creative, inventive, and thoughtful in creating session proposals that are engaging and forward-focused. Be sure to provide a comprehensive proposal that addresses the meeting theme to maximize your chances of earning a slot.

Program symposia submissions are due February 1Section and member symposia, organized meetings and workshop are due March 1. View the criteria for section symposia and workshop.

While we anticipate being in person in 2021, the safety and well-being of our membership comes first.  In the case that we need to transition to a fully virtual event as we did in 2020, we will be re-opening submissions for Program Symposia to make sure the organizers are comfortable with a virtual format.
