Annual Meeting Volunteer Opportunities

The ESA Annual Meeting depends on the following volunteers to ensure the meeting runs smoothly. Thank you for considering serving in one or more of these capacities.

Moderators and Judges

Moderators are responsible for keeping their session running on schedule and facilitating discussion where necessary. Training for moderators will be provided onsite during the meeting. Up to two moderators will be assigned to all oral presentation sessions.

Judges for the student competition will be assigned to either an oral or poster presentation session. Judges are responsible for judging each presentation in their assigned session according to the criteria which will be provided. Three judges will be assigned to each student competition session. Training for judges will be provided onsite at the meeting.

Please contact your Section leaders if you would like to serve in one or both of these capacities. You may also sign up as a student competition judge or moderator during the Annual Meeting registration process.

Students and Early Career Professionals

ESA's Internship Program offers students and early career professionals the opportunity to be a part of the Annual Meeting, where they can gain exposure for their work, network with colleagues and friends, and expand their careers. Student members and student transition and early career professional (ECP) members of ESA who serve as interns and work a minimum of 6 hours at the Annual Meeting are eligible for reimbursement of their registration fee after the meeting.

If you are not currently a member and wish to intern at the meeting and receive reimbursement, you must join or renew your membership online.
