Melanie Kirby, an Extension Educator with the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, NM, will be our featured speaker for the meeting Sunday evening during the Welcome Reception & Keynote Address. The title of her talk is “Inter-cultural insights: the importance of place, power, and purpose in pollinator stewardship.” She will incorporate our meeting theme by providing an overview of the 7R’s of Indigenous Research and how that relates to conservation and stewardship practices through Interdisciplinary and cross-cultural methods. Melanie will also be hosting a workshop entitled "METAmorphosis: Transformative Research & Outreach for Creative & Inclusive Science Communication" on Sunday morning. Learn more.
