John Henry Comstock Graduate Student Awards

These six awards are given to one graduate student from each ESA Branch to promote interest in entomology at the graduate level and to stimulate interest in attending the ESA Annual Meeting. Students members are eligible to compete for this award in one Branch only. Each award consists of an all-expenses-paid trip to the meeting, a $100 cash prize, and a certificate. Expenses paid include reimbursed airfare, free hotel arrangements, free meeting registration, and a per diem allowance. These annual awards are presented during the ESA Annual Meeting.

NOTE:  Members can only submit in one Branch each year.

Nomination Process

Each ESA Branch has its own selection criteria for these awards. Please inquire directly with the respective Branch Award requirements.  
ESA Branches are only allowed to nominate.  In order to win at the ESA national level; you must win at the branch level first.  

Deadline

Each Branch must notify ESA headquarters of its Comstock winner by July 15. Branches must send the below information via email to cmyers@entsoc.org as a notification of their winner.
(1) the name of each branch award recipient
(2) a 250-word (or less) biography for the press release, website and awards book.
(3) a 50 word bio for the voice over text for the awards ceremony
(4) a digital photo of the recipient that is at least 1" wide x 1-1/2" tall, black and white or color, with a minimum of 300 pixels per inch.
